CLIMB
St Alphonsus Cancer Care Center's upcoming CLIMB program will be held June 10th - July 15th .  Children's Lives Include Moments of Bravery is a free 6 week community based support program for children and teens with a parent, grandparent or guardian going through cancer treatment.  The program is staffed by trained volunteers with oncology experience, including Diane Bawcom, Oncology Social Worker at St. Luke's MSTI, who will lead the adult discussion group while Lesa Breding leads the children's activities.  They will begin every evening with a family dinner.  CLIMB is funded by a generous grant from the Saint Alphonsus foundation and proceeds from the 2012 Saint Alphonsus Capitol classic Children's Run.  Please see your counselor for more information.
TUESDAY TEACHER MEETINGS
Hillside teachers are required by district mandate to attend PLC (Professional Learning Community) meetings every Tuesday from 2:30 ~ 3:30 and will not be available to meet with students or parents during this time.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WHO WANT TO ATTEND SUMMER SCHOOL
This year regular summer school will be held at Riverglen Junior High School. If you are interested in getting ahead in your course work, please see your counselor for the classes you should consider.
AVID students are eligible to take these summer school classes for just the cost of the registration fee, $30.
The cost of getting ahead is $115 for one credit up to $370 for four credits.
Students who want to do summer school on-line through IDLA may register after March 14th. The fee is $75 per class.
We do not have information about the summer school for students who need to make up credits. Also, we do not know where the make up summer school will be held.

HILLSIDE EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN
In order to provide an effective response to emergency situations, together with the district and law enforcement agencies, we have made some changes to Hillside's Emergency Response Plan.  This comprehensive plan is organized, and all staff members trained, to effectively prepare for maximum safety, efficiency and communication in the even of an emergency.

If you would like more information, please contact Mr. Hettinga or Ms. McCombs, and we'd be happy to share the details of the plan with you.
